ABOUT US
We are the Strader Family, sent to make disciples and plant churches in Manchester, England
This isn’t a short-term effort. We are going to live there, build relationships, open the Scriptures, and invest our lives into seeing people follow Jesus. Our aim is simple; faithful gospel work that leads to lasting churches.
OUR STORY
For years, John has served as the pastor of Horizon Baptist Church in Missouri City, Texas. Before that, our family spent seven years working in Kenya, East Africa as missionaries establishing indigenous churches and training local leaders.
God has given us a deep conviction about the local church, the authority of Scripture, and the call to make disciples who make disciples.
God’s call to go
The Lord has steadily directed our hearts back to missionary work. Through prayer, Scripture, and counsel from our church and other wise mentors, it became clear that we were not called to stay, we were called to go.
We are stepping away from pastoral ministry in the U.S. to take the Gospel where it is less clearly known and less faithfully lived.
Why Manchester?
Manchester is one of the most influential cities in the United Kingdom, with a large and growing population.
Yet many people have little to no meaningful connection to the Gospel. Church attendance is low, and biblical conviction is rare.
We are going to live among the people of Manchester and faitfully proclaim Christ where He is not clearly seen.
OUR STrategy
We won’t start with large programs. We will start with people. We will build relationships in everyday settings and open the Scriptures with those who are willing to listen.
We will focus on a defined area, invest deeply, and develop leaders before expanding. As disciples are made, we will gather them into local, biblically, grounded churches that can grow and multiply.
accountability
We are sent out by Horizon Baptist Church in Missouri City, Texas.
Our ministry operates under the accountability and oversight of our sending church. Financial support is received and managed through the church’s giving system.
We are not working independently. We are sent, supported, and accountable.
Timeline
We are currently in the support-raising phase of this mission.
As support is established, we will transition to full-time preparation and relocation to Manchester.
Out long-term goal is to live and minister in Manchester, building toward healthy, multiplying churches.
OUR Family
We are not going alone. We are going together.
John is a pastor, missionary, and disciple-maker. He has a deep conviction to preach the Word, train leaders, and establish healthy churches that multiply.
Amber brings strength, wisdom, and inspiration to both our home and ministry. She is full of joy and has a heart for people and plays a vital role in discipleship, hospitality, and raising our children in the faith.
Our children are an important part of this mission. We are committed to discipling them well and helping them grow in their own understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.
Our Mission
We are going to Manchester to do the work of the Great Commission.
We will share the Gospel clearly and consistently. We will disciple individuals and small groups through the Word of God. We will train leaders who can teach others. Over time, we will establish simple, healthy churches in local neighborhoods.
This work will be steady, relational, and grounded in Scripture.
What we believe
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and our final authority for faith and life.
We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone through His death and resurrection.
We believe the mission of the local church is to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to follow Jesus in every area of life.
